3. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and measure our advertising.
- Essential cookies — required for the site and booking or ordering links to function.
- Analytics cookies — help us see which pages and dishes get the most interest (for example, Google Analytics).
- Advertising cookies and pixels — used by platforms such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, and Google to measure ad results and show you relevant ads.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and most mobile devices let you limit ad tracking. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. Our site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers — reservation and waitlist platforms, online ordering and delivery partners (Clover, DoorDash, Uber Eats), payment processors, email and SMS marketing tools, website hosting, and analytics providers. These providers may only use the information to perform services for us.
- Advertising and analytics partners — limited identifiers and activity data shared through cookies and pixels for measurement and targeted advertising. Under some state privacy laws, this type of sharing may be considered "sharing" or a "sale" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may opt out — see Your Privacy Rights.
- Professional advisors — accountants, attorneys, and insurers where needed.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our guests, staff, or business.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, sale, financing, or transfer of all or part of our business.
5. Email & Text Marketing
If you opt in, we may send promotional emails or text messages about events, brunch, specials, and offers.
- Email: unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any marketing email.
- Text messages: reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of any purchase.
We may still contact you about a specific reservation, order, or inquiry after you opt out of marketing.
6. Payments & Ordering
Online orders and payments are processed by third parties, including Clover, DoorDash, and Uber Eats. When you click an ordering link, you leave our site and the third party's own privacy policy and terms apply to the information you provide there. We receive order details needed to prepare and fulfill your order, but we do not receive or store your full card number.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — for example, to fulfill your reservation or order, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Marketing contact details are kept until you opt out or ask us to delete them. Security camera footage is retained for a limited period in the ordinary course of business and then overwritten, unless preserved for an investigation or legal claim.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on our website and reputable third-party processors for payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- Request a copy of that information;
- Request correction of inaccurate information;
- Request deletion of your information;
- Opt out of targeted advertising or the sharing of your information for that purpose;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Texas residents have these rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and residents of California, Colorado, Virginia, and other states have similar rights under their own laws.
To make a request, email contact@theafroeatery.com with the subject line "Privacy Request," or call 346-849-4075. We will verify your identity before responding and will reply within the time required by applicable law. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response; if your appeal is denied, Texas residents may contact the Texas Attorney General.
10. Children's Privacy

If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. Portions of our venue and services — including the bar — are restricted to guests 21 and older with valid ID.
11. Photos, Video & Security Cameras
Our venue is monitored by security cameras for the safety of guests and staff. We also photograph and record video at the restaurant and at events for marketing and social media. By entering the premises or attending an event, you consent to being photographed or recorded and to our use of that content in our marketing without additional compensation. If you appear in a photo or video and would like it removed, email contact@theafroeatery.com and we will make reasonable efforts to remove it from channels we control.
